New policy brief supports MissionLakes initiative through joint project collaboration

A new policy brief, titled "Restoring lake ecosystems to support more effective implementation of EU policies", has been developed as a product and representation of the MissionLakes initiative, reflecting a shared vision for healthier aquatic ecosystems across Europe. The publication brings together key messages and recommendations that support the protection and restoration of lakes, while aligning with wider European policy ambitions.

The policy brief is the result of a collaboration between FERRO, its three sister projects - EuroLakes, ProCleanLakes, and FutureLakes, and the IDEATION project, demonstrating the strength of joint efforts in tackling complex environmental challenges. By pooling knowledge, experience, and insights, the contributing projects present a unified perspective that bridges science, policy, and practice.

Designed to support policymakers, stakeholders, and practitioners, the brief provides clear and accessible guidance to help advance sustainable lake management and restoration efforts. It also plays an important role in promoting the MissionLakes initiative, increasing its visibility and reinforcing its objectives within the wider Mission Ocean framework.

The full policy brief is now available online and can be accessed here.
