FERRO at the Mission Ocean and Water Forum 2026

FERRO at the Mission Ocean and Water Forum 2026

The FERRO project took part in the Mission Ocean and Water Forum held between 4–5 March 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. The event brought together representatives of European projects, institutions, and stakeholders working towards the protection and restoration of aquatic ecosystems, in line with the objectives of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”.

FERRO was represented by the project coordinator, Tallent Dadi, from UFZ, who participated in the forum in close collaboration with the sister projects EuroLakes, FutureLakes, ProCleanLakes, and the IDEATION project. The joint presence of these projects provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, discuss common challenges, and explore synergies related to lake restoration, water quality improvement, and sustainable ecosystem management across Europe.

During the forum, participants engaged in discussions on the progress of Mission Ocean and Water activities, the role of research and innovation in supporting policy implementation, and the importance of cooperation between projects addressing similar environmental issues. The collaboration between FERRO and its sister projects highlighted the value of coordinated efforts in developing effective solutions for the protection and restoration of freshwater ecosystems.

The participation in the forum strengthened FERRO’s links with the wider Mission community and contributed to increasing the visibility of the project’s work in the field of lake restoration and ecosystem resilience. The event also provided a platform for future collaboration and knowledge sharing, supporting the overall goal of achieving healthier oceans, seas, and inland waters across Europe.
