FERRO at the Long Night of Science 2025 in Magdeburg

On June 14, 2025, the city of Magdeburg, Germany came alive with curiosity and discovery during the Long Night of Science 2025, a vibrant public science festival. Under the motto "Knowledge. From here.", research institutions across the city opened their doors late into the night, inviting visitors of all ages to experience science up close.

As part of this inspiring event, Prof. Karsten Rinke from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) presented the FERRO project, offering both children and adults an engaging look into the project's goals and relevance for aquatic ecosystem restoration. Using on-site experiments, Prof. Rinke demonstrated key scientific concepts behind FERRO, sparking conversations about the importance of lake restoration, water quality, and science-based environmental solutions.

From hands-on activities and lab tours to live demonstrations and lectures, the Long Night of Science offered something for everyone, and FERRO was proud to be part of it.
