FERRO was presented at the FutureLakes Kick-off Meeting held online on 30 October 2024, bringing together project partners and stakeholders at the start of our sister project. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the project’s vision and objectives, while also exploring potential synergies with related projects addressing freshwater ecosystem challenges.

Tallent Dadi (UFZ) presented the FERRO project, outlining its integrated approach to lake restoration through nutrient removal, recovery and reuse. The presentation highlighted FERRO’s technical and collaborative framework, as well as its contribution to advancing sustainable and circular solutions in water management across Europe.

Following the presentation, Tallent Dadi took part in a question-and-answer session, engaging with participants from FutureLakes and other sister projects. The exchange supported the initiation of closer collaboration, encouraging dialogue, knowledge sharing and alignment of activities where relevant. Overall, the meeting strengthened connections between projects and reinforced a shared commitment to improving the ecological status of European lakes.
