FERRO was presented at the EuroLakes Kick-off Meeting held online on 16 October 2024, marking the launch of this new initiative focused on freshwater ecosystem management and restoration. The meeting gathered project partners and stakeholders to introduce objectives, outline planned activities and explore opportunities for cooperation with related projects working towards improved lake water quality across Europe.

Anna-Marie Klamt (SDU) presented the FERRO project, providing an overview of its integrated approach to lake restoration through nutrient removal, recovery and reuse. The presentation highlighted FERRO’s technical framework, its focus on sustainable and circular solutions, and its contribution to broader European efforts aimed at restoring and protecting freshwater ecosystems.

During the subsequent question-and-answer session, Anna-Marie Klamt engaged with participants from EuroLakes and other sister projects, supporting constructive dialogue and the exchange of knowledge. The discussion contributed to the initiation of closer collaboration, identifying potential areas of synergy and reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing innovative solutions for healthier European lakes.
